Hi! I want to welcome all our new members. Please feel free to post about your path to self education. From now on, I'll be posting a "What I did this Week" thread on Fridays so that everyone can talk about their progress. Tomorrow, I'll also be posting a "find a subject/book/theme buddy" thread, in case you want to find someone to read the same book, or talk about a specific periods in history, or brush up on your algebra with.

If you have any resources you think should be added to our userinfo list, please feel free to leave a comment here, so I can go check them out. Also, if you have any suggestions or questions, please let me know! And once again, Welcome!

And this looks great-things look more difficult during the freshman year of the reading, but hey, it would be good to be a freshman so many years after I was one! And lots of the books we were "supposed"to read never got read because um-our high school was bad and evil and violent and we were out of clases demonstrating against the war in Vietnam; so a lot of classes kind of went by the wayside! So some of the classics got pushed aside! This si a great idea. Thanks

Re: WOW_

Hi! Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I just saw your comment. I read a few of the classics in high school, but my school was very focused on math and science, so the classics and history sort of went by the wayside. What it did instill in me was the idea that you have to keep teaching yourself, and well, in the that reguard at least, I think they succeeded.
